Hostess Sets Sample

I am so excited about the hostess sets that are in the new catalog! I made this card using the words from one of the Level 2 sets of stamps, "Wings of Friendship", Raspberry Lemonade DSP, and new In-color Cardstock, Small and Large Star punches, Scallop Oval punch, and The Scallop Edge Punch that is this week's "Deal of the Week"! The large outline star is made by first punching the small star out of a piece of cardstock. Then, using the large star punch, line that punch around where you just punched out the small star, and that gives you the outline star. The small punched star then is used on the right hand side of the card - along with 2 other small stars. This card uses the new in-colors: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, and Crushed Curry. Love those luscious new colors! Thanks for stopping by.

Deal of the Week!

Stampin Up has come up with a great plan for the month of July! Each week they will be offering a Deal of the Week! This week the deal is on the Scallop Edge Punch. (Item #112091, retail $15.95) It is on sale this week only, from July 1st to July 6th for $10.95. You can order this by calling me at 304 776-4932; emailing me at: HalfwittStamps@aol.com or online through my website: http://www.brendawitt.stampinup.net/ and click on the "Shop Now" button.

Good-Bye!

Today is the last day to order from the old Catalog! So we will bid a fond farewell to our retiring sets of stamps. If there is anything you want to order, I will be taking orders until 6 p.m. tonight--then I will be placing my final order for this catalog. Any persons placing orders today will have their name put in a drawing for the stamp set Soft Summer, which is in the Occasions Mini Catalog - which also expires today! Today's sample is from the set called Tart and Tangy. It also uses the DSP, Rockabilly, which is retiring today. Enjoy! Remember tomorrow is the beginning of the Blog Tour!

Play Day

Today was my downline meeting and we had lots of fun playing! At this meeting we had a shoebox swap - each person brought everything we needed to each make a card like their sample. Alice taught us how to use the new circle cutter. I need to get mine out of the box and get started--the possibilities are endless--circles, circles, circles! The pictures are of the cards that we made today - all of which were cased! If the idea was yours, thank you for being such an inspiration to us! I have more pictures, but will post them later. My daughter was here for the meeting today, and she made pepperoni rolls for us - they were so good. Monta brought me a birthday cake --peanut butter cake with peanutbutter fudge icing! Wow were those yummy! Ever notice that stamping and eating seem to go hand in hand? lol Thanks for stopping by!

Home Again!

I am back home again, after a wonderful week at my daughter's house in North Carolina. We took the granddaughters with us and they had a ball. Auntie had a "real life" Nancy Drew game prepared for them. They solved the Mystery of the Old West, complete with cookout, cowboy hats, "horse" rides, and a trip to a Gold Mine! They even panned for gold and found nuggets! (I use this term loosely, as the "nuggets" they found were about the size of a pinhead!) lol But such fun! I can't say enough about the Children's Museum in Greensboro, NC! What a fantastic day they had there. If you are anywhere near there, it is worth the trip for kids. Fortunately the picture of the girls on crutches, is of them playing in the doctor's area! They had great fun being a part of a "pit crew" also. They took turns being the racecar driver!

I do actually have a card sample to show you from the new book! It uses the new Level III Hostess set, Flowers Bundle. It is one of the cards from a One Sheet Wonder class.
Thanks for stopping by!

Last Chance!

Today was the day for the unveiling of the "Last Chance" list of stamps, accessories, and decor elements. You can view these, under promotions, on my Stampin Up Webiste:

http://www.brendawitt.stampinup.net/ The accessories are only available while supplies last, but the stamp sets will be available through June 30th. Let me know if you want help ordering. Some of the accessories are already sold out, so don't delay if there is something that you particularly want.
I am pleased to see that some of my favorite stamps are not on the "Last Chance" list. "Lovely as a Tree" is still one of my all time favorites. I noticed that all the name and address stamps are going, and also the stamps that have your name on them, to personalize your cards. I hope that means that they are going to be updating their selection, and not discontinuing them all together! Just another aspect of the excitement that comes with a new catalog! (coming July 1, 2009!)

I wanted to share with you another cake pop-up card that we designed at my downline meeting yesterday! It was such fun, once we got started. We used the spiral edge punch to make the "walls" of the sand castle. The beach accessories were from "Life is a Breeze" stamp set (which is on the retiring list, by the way, as is the ribbon we used to make the beach towel. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it! Happy stamping!
