May: National Scrapbooking Month!

May is National Scrapbooking Month, so I thought I would start the month off right by showing you one of the scrapbook layouts that I cased from Rhonda McCutcheon, one of my downline. I think this is an awesome layout! Thanks for sharing with us Rhonda!
If you have any interest in learning to scrapbook, send me an email, and we will put another scrapbooking class on the calendar!
The supplies are All Stampin' Up and Sissix. I love the Big Shot - it makes scrapbooking fast and simple.

Downline Meeting

We had a great time today at our monthly Downline meeting - having lunch, sharing cards and ideas, and making a Heritage album. Rhonda McCutcheon, one of my downline, is seen here looking at the Heritage Album that she taught us to make today. The album is made from 6" x 9" white envelopes, sealed, and the end of each envelope is slit, so that a card can be inserted with the information and pictures on it. Each page (envelope pocket) had a title and some embellishments. In each pocket a page was inserted with a title and lines to journal. There were such titles as: All About Me; My Favorite Photo; My Faith, etc.

Frustration Monday followed by No Electricity Tuesday!

The last 2 days have just not been my days! I spent most of the day yesterday struggling with online issues. I got up early this morning and worked on cards before anything else could go wrong and keep me from it! Good choice on my part, because by noon, our electric was out. I had such great cardmaking plans for today! Down the drain. I do have a card I want to share with you though, that I made earlier in the week. It uses a chipboard frame and 2 coats of Embossing Powder, plus texture plates for the So Saffron background. You can click on any picture to see an enlargement of the picture. This was one of the cards that i didn't end up using for our Mother's Day class from last weekend. I just kept finding ones that I liked better! lol Thank you for stopping by! Happy Stamping.

Customer Corner - April 20, 2009

We have our first customer submitted card! This is such a cool card, made using only punches, markers, 2 ink pads and a sponge! It was submitted by Mary Ann Horley. She used the 5 petal punch for the flower and the leaves. A marker to draw the stems, and one of the flowers from Boho Blossoms punch for the center of the daffodil. She colored the points of the Boho Blossom punchout with a marker, to make the center look like it is standing up! Very nice!

Embellished Swing Hinge Card!

Whew! Had a busy weekend. Had 2 classes on Saturday, and a Stamp Club on Sunday - plus church today and family --all in all a good weekend! I wanted to post some of the cards that I have been making, and to let you know that I finally have a new class list out - about time, huh? We made a card at my Thursday afternoon Stamp Club that I really like. I saw the idea on another blog, and thought it was so neat. I call it the Hinge Card - don't know what it is really called, but you use a brad, in this case one of our new flower brads (#112583) as the hinge. I also used one of the big silk flowers from the Pretties Kit (109114), a felt flower from the Flower Fusion felt Flowers (#112006) for the card - open view; White large Grommet(114348) in the closed view, and another flower brad in the center of the flower. I used the stamp set Great Friend (#113792) to stamp the butterfly image, and the card stock is Pink Silhoutte, and DSP Parisian Breeze Cardstock(113993).

Playing Catchup!

I have been busy all week playing catchup since I got back from Hawaii last Saturday evening! I had 9 boxes of Stampin Up to open, sort out, mount and bag up and get to my customers! Then there was the laundry! So now, I have the orders just about all delivered, more placed and I am hoping to get to be creative today. Woo Hoo! I will post a few more Hawaii pictures, and then tomorrow I hope to have cards to post. I have also been working on my upcoming classes list. What class would you like? This is a picture of me with our Stampin Up Founder and President, Shellie Gardner. She is such a lovely lady, so kind and gracious. This was taken at Share Night. I took lots of pictures of the cards and 3-D items that were shared that night. I will be sharing some of those pictures in the coming days. What a creative bunch of ladies were on that trip!
