Last day of the Month!

Wow! How this month has flown. It seems forever ago that we were lolling around the pool at Myrtle Beach, and it has only been about 3 weeks! It has been a hectic time since then, and a very sad time, as there have been several deaths among family and friends. I am glad that I have stamping and granddaughters to keep me centered. Today is the last day of the month, and as of October 1st, you will be able to purchase "My Digital Studio" through Stampin Up! It is awesome with its many features - scrapbooking templates, digital designer paper, buttons and brads that we can make any color! Can't wait to play with my copy. And to further entice you, if you hold a workshop with $400 in merchandise sales, you can get your copy of MDS for 1/2 price! Now would be a good time to get some friends together and hostess a Stamping Party!

Today's sample is what we made in this month's Scrapbook class. It showcases our new Build-A-Bear die and clothes. I think he is adorable! The wagon is made from a Top Note die that has been textured with one of our texture plates. The wheels are the brown courdoroy buttons. The pumpkins were made with our small and large oval punches. It was a fun page to make. Next month's pages will be Thanksgiving Themed. Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping.

Woo Hoo!

I m so excited today. I had one of my cards chosen to be on Stampin Up's Stamper's Showcase this week! That is a big deal for me. I have never had one chosen before. I have shared it here with you before, but want to share it again. They just used the card front, they didn't show the surprise inside! Hope you are having a stampingly good day!

Diorama Card

This is a version of a card that I got at Convention this year . It was made by one of my fellow RemARKable stamper teammates, Maria Pane. It is called a Diorama card because it is made in 3 layers and you look through each layer to the back of the card. Isn't it cool? I am also showing you a picture from the top, so that you can see how it is made. Very simple, but has a great WOW! factor! Hope you enjoy. Happy Stamping.

Whew!

Well, it has been another busy week! Marlin did well with his kidneystone surgery! He went back to work the next day. Glad it was him and not me - I am a wimp anymore. I want to share with you one of the Halloween cards that we made today in Stamp Club. it is really easy and quick. In fact, I was making the sample so quickly, that I didn't give the ink time to dry, and smeared it! Sorry, but you get the idea anyway. It is using the new set, "Halloween Hoot" (#111582) $29.95. I love the kettle that is a part of this set -if you turn the stamp upside down, I think it looks like a big fat frog sticking his tongue out! And that makes me smile!
Speaking of making me smile, my family and I went to a really cool event in St. Albans yesterday. I don't know if many of you are familiar with the Shoney's chain of restaurants or not, but the first one was started here in Charleston, WV a very long time ago. (of course I can't remember the year.) The original building was a round one, and one of the locals here created a small replica of the building and it was a central part of a Hot Rod Racers Reunion yesterday. There was a car show with about 200 old cars, 50's and 60's music, and this display. My granddaughters loved the statue of the Big Boy! We went to the soccer game, lunch, and then relaxed at the car show. A nice day.

Myrtle Beach

While the Blog Tour was going on last week, this is where I was hanging out! Since I got sunburned the first day, I spent most of the rest of the week, inside the room, looking out my window at this view of the beach or floating on the Lazy River, that you see pictured here! I spent some mornings with my lounge chair almost in the bushes, so that i could stay in the shade and read! Not your typical Beach person, but I sure did enjoy it.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Its off to the Hospital we go!

Today was the day that I spent the day at the hospital with my son. He had to have a kidney stone crushed, a stint put in, and then recover enough to come home. He is at home and resting, but it was a rough day for him. I will try to post pictures tomorrow--of cards - not kidney stones! lol Hope you had a good day stamping.

"Bugs and Kisses"

Hello! I just got back from a week at Myrtle Beach and I sat down tonight and looked at all the entries for my blog candy! Wow! Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my posts! I am so glad I offered Blog Candy - otherwise I would never have heard from so many of you! You really made my day. I hope that you will continue to come and enjoy stamping with me. I have 3 Stamp Clubs this week and 2 classes - so I should have lots more samples to post this week!

And the winner of the Blog Candy is: www.powercreative.com
Just email me with your name and address, and I will send the Blog Candy right out to you!

I am using the Sweet Treat Cups again in conjunction with an older stamp set--because it was perfect for the candy I chose. I went to the store to find candy to put in the cups. I originally wanted fall or Halloween colored M & M's to put in the cup. I was going to make a Halloween card using candy in the cup. As I stood there looking, and looking, I couldn't find any M & M's the right color. I saw Gummi Bears and thought that would be really cute with the "Beary Best Friends" set of stamps, so I put some of those in the buggy. Then I saw the sugar coated gummy worms! I knew it would be perfect with our set of stamps,"Bugs and Kisses"! I stamped the worms, cut them out, and then used 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter! I will have to make the bear card another day.

Holiday Blog Tour - Wrap It up!

I thought it would be fitting to "wrap up" our holiday blog tour with one of the projects that we will be doing in my "Wrap it Up" class. I used the Wheel, "Sparkle and Shine" to make the wrapping paper for this gift. I used Old Olive ink on freezer paper to make the gift wrap. Then I tied a knot in our Red Polka Dot grosgrain ribbon and taped it on my package. I used the gift tag stamp from "Delightful Decorations" to finish off the gift. (Won't my husband be surprised when he sees that he not only has bought me a gift, but he has wrapped it as well! I love it that we can co-ordinate card, gift wrap and gift tags! And at midnight too when all the stores are closed-which is when I usually get around to doing my creating. lol I have included a picture of one of my Christmas cards, using a different set of Christmas stamps that also looks good with the "Sparkle and Shine" wheel as the background for the card.

I hope that you have enjoyed visiting with me this week as much as I have enjoyed preparing the samples for you to see. Don't forget to stop back tomorrow to see who is the winner of my blog candy. Just email me at: HalfwittStamps@aol.com . Be sure and put Blog Candy as the title of your email. The winner can email me with their name and address and I will mail it right out to you!

Holiday Blog Tour - Day 3

Today's project is made using the #2 Box die from Sissix. I love the ease of putting this one together. You only use sticky tape on the side seam. The box is made so that the bottom is self locking! Woo Hoo! The inspiration for this one came straight from the Holiday Mini! I embossed the little Skeleton (from Twick or Tweet) with black embossing powder. The candy inside was amazingly good - Corn Candy flavored taffy. And it was fresh--not break your teeth hard! Yummy! The designer paper that is in the lid of the box is from our new "Night and Day" Designer paper, also in the Mini catalog. So many possibilities there!

Holiday Blog Tour - Day 2

Welcome Back! Today I have chosen a Halloween goodie to share with you. It is made from the new product, Sweet Treat Cups, using the new stamp set, "Sweet Centers". This is such a cool product! The little cup is about 1/2 inch deep and you actually can put treats--candy, buttons, coins, etc. in the little cup and then attach it to your card, or in my case, I just made it into a Trick or Treat giveaway. These would be cute with popsickle sticks attached too! I used Versa Mark and black embossing powder for this one. My granddaughters loved it! I am so sad that this year there will be no candy allowed at the school's Halloween party--only healthy food, and prepackaged at that. No homemade goodies allowed. Sigh. But on a bright note - the Brownies haven't said that yet! lol

Blog Candy: I will be giving away blog candy at the end of our Holdiay Blog Tour. Just send an email to: HalfwittStamps@aol.com for a chance to receive this gift. Holiday Blog Tour Begins!

Woo Hoo! I am so excited! We have been preparing for a while now to welcome you to our Holiday Blog tour. There are so many new and exciting stamp sets, papers, dies, etc on the new Holiday Mini Catalog! I think my favorite is the new ornament punch and the "Delightful Decorations" stamp set that goes with it. I love the new Sparkle and Shine wheel too--makes a great background for the ornament set. And since this is my favorite set, this is the card that I am sharing with you today! Those ornaments just begged for dazzling diamonds glitter! It doesn't show real well in the picture, but I used the a texture plate on the top note. I looks nice in real life.

More Halloween

Today I am posting another of the items that we made in my Halloween Treats class. I love the spooky sky in the Owl in the Tree Basket. The basket was made from the Fancy Favor Die. I used the piece that was left from cutting the jagged edge to make the handle! I found purple and white corn candy (blackberry flavor) to put in the basket!!! Actually, I bought the candy first, because my son-in-law loves blackberries. So I bought it, planning on giving it to him for Halloween--guess I will be going back to the store to find him another bag, as we used almost all of this one to fill our baskets in class! Anyway, the stamp set that I used was "House of Haunts", which is one of my all time favorite Halloween sets. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!

Halloween is Coming!

We had our Halloween Treats class last night and I love what we made. The one I am showing you today is my favorite. The pattern was on the Stampin Up website for demonstrators, and I just added a few little things to it. It is a treat holder that holds two miniature candy bars. I used the funsize - have you noticed that the size has shrunk? They are skinnier than they used to be.

Just 5 more days till our Holiday Mini Blog Tour! There will be several of the Remarkable Stampers participating, and we will each have new samples daily from the new Holiday Mini Catalog! Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!

For All You Do

I am sorry that I have been absent for so long. Seems like I just can't get caught up. But now the garden is gone, and I am preparing for my fall classes, as you can see from the list on the right with the PayPal buttons!(Thank you Mary Ann for doing that for me!) What a great stamp set this is! (For All You Do) We were given this set on our incentive trip to Hawaii in March. I thought it was time to dust it off and use it again. It makes such great Thank You cards! I loved adding all the brads to this one! The technique used to get the polka dots on the flower is called Kissing. You ink up the polka dot stamp with a darker color than the color you ink the flower in. Then "Kiss" the flower stamp to the polka dot stamp, and then when you stamp it on your card stock, the flower is dotted! How cool is that! The little punch out flowers were made using the Trio Flower punch. I just wanted to share this card with you before I move on to fall posts. Thanks for stopping by. Happy Stamping!
