Season of Sweets - Moving Forward Style

This is one of the projects from my Moving Forward  Stamp Set class.  We used the cookie pouches from the Season of Sweets Designer Kit. (p. 15 of the Holiday Mini)  We used the blimp image on these pouches--and as you can see, I am no baker, so we used the little plastic bags that came with the kit for our Fall M & M's!  We also used the Window Frames Framelet Dies and the designer paper is from the Orchard Harvest DSP pack.  Both of these are available in the holiday mini also!  The little stamp on the left side of the window frame is the little bird from Moving Forward, the only image we hadn't yet used from the stamp set.  I love the M & Ms idea, because  you could make up some of these ahead of time, and not have to worry about the "cookie" getting stale.  I thought that these would make nice thank yous for waitresses, bank tellers, etc.  (Would put Thank you instead of Happy Birthday on them, obviously.  lol.  Thanks for stopping by!  Brenda

Ghoulish Googlies Desginer Kit

Today's sample is made with he Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit, which I dearly love!  This will be one of our projects in the Halloween 3-D class on Saturday, September 9th.  The little tag came with the kit, and I just stamped the mummy on it, the rest was already there.  Love the little googlie eye, which is also part of the kit.  There are 20 tags in the kit - 10 like the one above, and 10 that are round.  So even after you make the little treat bags, you still have 10 tags left over for another project!  Woo Hoo!  I went in search of Corn Candy to put in the little treat bag, but there was none to be had yet.  They had lots of trick or treat candy out, but no corn candy!  So I was forced to buy the Fall M & M's.  What a shame, huh?  lol  Have a blessed stamping day!  Brenda

Fall Card Class Sample

I am so excited!  I have had such fun the last 2 days working on Class samples!  I love, love, love the new Holiday mini catalog--and now my supplies are arriving!  It has been like Christmas here!  Fortunately the garden has cooperated and I don't have to can tomatoes until tomorrow.
On this card I used the new Woodgrain embossing folder on our new Core'dinations Card Stock!  I just love how the center of the cardstock shows through when you sand it with our Stampin Sanding System.  I used one of the Natural Designer Buttons as an accent piece.
This is one of the cards we will be making in my Fall Cards Class on Wednesday, August 22nd.  Email me for details and to sign up.  halfwittstamps@aol.com   Thanks for stopping by.  Happy stamping.  Brenda

Nancy Drew Game

I took a few days this week to go to my daughter, and downline;s house with my grandddaughters.  Mary Ann had prepared a real life Nancy Drew game for the girls.  In this one they solved a mystery that took place at the Nationals (her version of the Olympics)  She fingerprinted all of us and then they dusted for fingerprints to see who dun it!  Turns out that since I have had this skin problem, where all my skin has peeled, I almost had no fingerprints to print!

I took a whole box of new Stampin Up goodies to work on, but instead I mostly just relaxed and enjoyed my daugther and granddaughters.  I did work on a 3-D sample that will be one of the items in my Christmas 3-D class this year!  I will save it to share with you later, as we get closer to Christmas!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!  Brenda

For the Birds - Ice Skating Bird

This card was also one that I used in my For the Birds class on Saturday.  I mostly cased this one, with a few tweaks, from teammate, Carolyn Serviss!  I sprayed the whole card with Glimmer mist, which is made by adding Champaigne Mist Shimmer Paint to alcohol and spraying the card.  I also used the Rhinestones on this card.  The bottom 2 layers are Brushed Silver and Bashful Blue.
Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Stamping, Brenda

Thanks for your Support

This card was another one that we made in my For the Birds Stamp Class on Saturday.  I cased this card from Kim Knoph.  It was another card that I received as a trade at Convention!  This one showcases our new Chevron Embossing folder.  I am not a big Old Olive fan, but it sets off the pinks in this card very nicely!  It was also an opportunity to use the new striped ribbon (Cherry Cobbler)

For the Birds - Wagon

Today's card was one we made in the For the Birds stamp class on Saturday.  I cased this from a card made by Alisha Linn - it was one of the cards that I received in the card swap at Convention.  I love that it uses the Red Polka Dot Designer Paper!  We used a blender pen to pull color from the markers to color in the flowers and the wagon.  This technique gives you a more muted color, than does a direct from marker technique.  I loved the simplicity of this card!
That is one of the really nice thing about swapping cards.  You have such a great source of cards to use as idea starters, or comple casing!    Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Stamping  Brenda

The Check's in the Mail

This is from the For the Birds Stamp Set.  We had a stamp set class this weekend, in which we made 4 cards using various images from this set.  This one is of the mailbox.  I started out to case teammate Kathy Hamricks's card.  However she did a technique that I didn't know how to do, AND she used a stamp set that I didn't have for the little postage stamp!  So I ended up with a card that was vertical instead of horizontzal  and I added cardstock vellum to the center piece, to tone down the brightness of the Pacific Point and the Real REd.  I added a strip of Pacific point that had been run through the Big Shot with the Lattice embossing folder and tied a ribbon around it.  The little squares at each corner are made with the teeny, tiny postage stamp punch that is a part of the new mini three pack!  I love it.  In short, the stamp set, and the colors were really about all the cards have in common!  lol But I sure appreciated the starting place!

Convention March

This is me in the middle taking part in one of the Convention Marches.  I think this was the one for  having 4 or more recruits promote to Senior Associate.  The lady on the right is my friend, Cathy Gaspard, who is also one of the RemARKable stampers.  It is nice when you have someone(s) to go up with you.  My biggest fear was that I would trip and fall down the steps!  lol
This year's theme is "I AM . . . "  And we were asked to think of how we would complete that sentence.  I think that I would have to say that, "I am blessed".  We met so many nice people on this trip.  We would have missed our flight in Chicago if it hadn't been for the really sweet lady, Ruth Livingston, in the United Club.  Bev and I had chatted with her as we came in.  As we were leaving, she asked us when our flight was leaving for Salt Lake, and she checked to make sure the gate hadn't changed..  It had, and was now a half mile away, and 1/2 hour to get there!  She made arrangements and we got there in time!  Stamping truly opens up your world!

Butterfly Punch

This card, which I tweaked from a sample that I got at convention, uses the new Butterfly punch and the new Argyle Embossing folder.  The stamp at the top and bottom of the card is from Summer Silhouttes stamp set.  I had a really good reason for buying this stamp set!  lol - because I wanted the leaf stamp!  Anyway, I find that it is very versatile, and I am so glad that I bought it!  We made this card in my stamp clubs this week.

Convention Card Swap Case

Convention Card Swap Case
This is one of the cards that I swapped for at convention last week.  We made it this week in my Tuesday night Stamp Club!  I love the simplicity of black white and red cards.  We used the Mixed Bunch stamp set with Thank You coming from the Lacy and Lovely stamp set that was in our goodie pack in the I am Creative class that I took at convention.  I love the use of punches on this card.

Pattern Making Pro Class

I am back from SU convention and it was an awesome experience!  This is one of the projects that my daughter,Mary Ann Horley (she is also one of my downline), made in Carrie Cudney's You Are a Pattern Mixing Pro class.  They really worked hard to finish this project.  I love the rolled paper flowers.  It is done on an art canvas.  This was an extra class that we paid to take, and it was worth every penny!  They were given a stamp set, the canvas, DSP, and lots of other goodies!
While she was in this class, another downline, Bev Joplin and I were taking the Creative class!  The design artists from STampin Up were there to each present different tips and ideas.  We were then given a 5 minute period to apply some of their techniques to our Banner Project!  We also were given an awesome goodie package, which included SNAIL--the whole thing, not just the refill!  Don't know why that so impressed me, but it did!  We also got a stamp set(Lacy and Lovely), the new Halloween designer paper, Linen thread, and lots more!
That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by!  Brenda

Bright Blosssoms Card - Special April 1 - 30

Today's card is made using the new Bright Blossoms stamp set. Right now, April 1 - 30th, you can purchase this set of stamps, coordinating Designer Paper, and new Daffodil Delight Seam binding ribbon as part of Stampin Up's Sneak Peak. These items will be available in the new 2012 - 2013 catalog. These items won't be available again until the new catalog comes out on June 1st. Also available this month ONLY are the designer brads and the Decor Stencil. These will NOT be in the new catalog.
Love, love, love the new designer paper. In this card I used the rectangle Designer Frames embossing folder to showcase the stamp from the Bright Blossoms stamp set. I love it because it matches the design on the beautiful purse that Stamp up gave demonstrators at Leadership this year. The colors are Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White, and Lucky Limeade. The new Daffodil seam binding is sooo bright and cheerful! I have included the list of items in the Summer Smooch Special. Email me with your order if you would like to start enjoying this awesome preview special! halfwittstamps@aol.com

Hi Stampers!

Today's cards were from the January Downline meeting. The Kindness Matters card uses a free Saleabration set, "Kindness Matters". It was made by Shelley, and uses one of my favorite embossing folders, Elegant Lines. The Happy Birthday card was made by Bev C, and it features one of the beautiful sheets of DSP that is also free with a $50 merchandise purchase during SAB.

Downline Meeting Post 2

Good morning! The first of my cards today was made by fellow Witty Stamper, Joan. i love the look of the embossed flowers in the background, and the beautiful watercolored flowers on the top piece. Layers add so much to any card. I am so grateful to these ladies for their willingness to trade cards. We get such great ideas from each other. I would love to have you join my team, and be in on our trades! Just email me at Halfwittstamps@aol.com and I will fill you in on the details of joining us.

Here is another of the cards that one of my downline made for our trades this month. This one was made by Mandy. Don't you just love the little birdhouse hanging from the beautiful branch??? i am so blessed with talented downline.

Downline Meeting Share

Hi ladies!

The first card, which uses the 3 flowers from Easy Events was my trade card at this month's downline meeting. The shabby chic look was achieved by using a tool that I hadn't used in a long time. Guess it just got pushed to the back and I kind of forgot about it. (Imagine how that happened, what with all the new Big Shot toys and Simply Scored that have come out! lol) Any way, the tool is called the Cutting kit, and it is really cool, with a cutting knife, a scoring part, and distressing wheelie thingie, and a perforation tool, all hooked together on a key chain. I used the distressing wheel part of the tool to distress the edges of the top 3 layers. I used an embossing folder to make the fourth layer, and note the new SAB ribbon that i used on the side of the card as well as one of our flower brads. There is even a little of the Dazzling Detail in the center of each flower. This was a fun card to make and a great showcase for lots of our great SU products. This card was inspired by one that I traded for at Leadership. if it was yours, thank you so very much! Brenda

Here is one of the cards that was shared with us at our Monthly downline meeting on Sunday. This one was made by Sheila. Love the use of the triple layer punch and the tulip embossing folder. Also I never thought about using the leaf part of the bird punch for a stem and leaves for the flowers! I love downline meeting! Thanks for stopping by. Breneda

Leadership Bag

Hi ladies,
I am finally getting around to posting the beautiful bag that we were given at Ledership in San Antonio--and there is a portfolio inside that goes with it. This is made from new fabric that will be in the new Idea book when it comes out later this year! The design on the top of the bag mirrors a stamp set that will also be in the new catalog. Isn't it pretty! And that was also a gift (stamp set) to us at the Manager's Reception! Woo Hoo! The purse is made so that the bottom part of the purse can be unbuttoned! Hmmm - wonder if that means we will be able to get other covers for it, or if we will just have to buy more SU fabric and make our own??? Guess time and the new catalog will tell. Maybe it is just so we an wash the bottom part if it gets dirty. Sigh. While that is definitely nice, not what i am hoping for! lol Thanks for stopping by.

Candy

Hi stampers! This card was made by one of my very good customers! Isn't she creative? And it looks so real! She used the Candy Conversations stamp in the Occasions mini to make the hearts. Isn't this the cutest card? And who doesn't remember getting those little boxes of Conversation hearts on Valentine's day--usually from your teacher. I loved the use of vellum to let us see that the box is full of little hearts! Thank you Nancy for sharing with us.
Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine

This is one of my favorite cards that I have seen at Leadership. I love how striking the black and white is! This is one of the sets in the new Occasions Mini catalog. Note the little hearts that are made with the new mini embossing folder. I dont' know who to give credit for for this card, but I sure do like it. Thanks for stopping by. Brenda

Leadership Manager's Reception

Here is the outside of the Lila Cockerell Theater, in the San Antonio Convention Center where the Manager's Reception was held last night at Leadership. The buildings here on the Riverwalk are so interesting. Much of the Riverwalk was built by the WPA back in the 1930s, and those that weren't are made to fit in with what was already here. San Antonio is a fascinating city. I really enjoyed our boat tour of the Riverwalk. Lots of gorgeous cards are being traded. Many are on display. Today we were told of the new catalog program that will be unveiled shortly. Exciting times! Will post a few cards later. Thanks for stopping by.
