This is another of my January mini thank You notes. I really liked this Polar Party stamp set, and I thought this little bear made an appropriate Thank you note for thanking folks for their Christmas Gifts! And I loved using up some of the scraps from the Candlelight DSP. Happy stamping, and hope that where ever you are that you are safe, dry and warm. The rain is coming down in buckets here today!

Thank You Notes
Today's cards are 2 of the mini 3" x 3" cards that are a part of my monthly "Thnak You" notes that I put in customer orders each month. . I used the mittens one at the beginning of the month, because it was winter and II still thoguht that was a novelty. I am sooooo over winter now, and am just ready for spring! So the second one uses the Tea for Two designer paper. I cut the DSP flower with our 1 3/4" circle punch(#119850, $16.95) and adhered it to our 13/4" Scallop Circle (#119854, $16.95) punched Bashful Blue scallop circle. You can punch 15 - 17 flower images from 1 sheet of the DSP! The little butterfly was punched from the Yellow circles on the same sheet of DSP, using the blue side of the paper!

"Don't Be Blue" Valentine
Today's sample is one of my favorite that I have made in a while. I love the new pool party ribbon that is part of the free items you can get in the Saleabraton brochure. There are actually 3 ribbons--Pool Party, Island Indigo, and Calypson Coral--plus 2 kinds of buttons! The heart is from the set, You are Loved, and it is embossed with Pool Party Embossing powder. Did you notice the pretty border at the bottom of the card??? I used a piece of the new Delicate Details Paper tape---are you ready for this??? I used it as a stencil! I needed a piece for this card, but due to the snow on Friday, my order was taken back to the UPS terminal for delivery today! (Not a lot of help for the classes I had on Saturday and Sunday!) So, I had heard that it was removeable, but I hadn't tried that yet. I had ONE card sample here with a piece of the tape on it--it was on a Night of Navy card stock. I just hoped I would be able to get it off that card and use it as a stencil. You can imagine my delight when I found that although the card had been made for 3 weeks, the tape came right off!!!! We used it as a stencil by applying it to the above card, putting a post it note about 1/4" above the piece of tape and daubing the whole area with Pool Party ink. Peeled off the tape, and the Very Vanilla Card stock shows through, looking like the lace tape! We then used it 10 more times on everyone's cards, and I finally put it back on the original card, no worse for the added uses! Isn't that sweet???? I originally thought the tape might be a bit pricey, but by using it as a stencil, there are unlimited uses! (#130988 $9.95 for two 1-yard pieces. The second variety is not used on this card.) Thanks for stopping by.

By the Tide
Today's card uses the stamp set, By the Tide. It was also on the display boards at Leadership. I like this stamp set, and love the use of the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder as the base for the card. Can't you just smelll the sea air?? And maybe feel the warm sun? (I sure wish I were where it is warm. I think it may be July before I thaw out! However, I am grateful that at least we don't have snow today.) This set is one I will be using in the By the Tide Stamp Set class on March 14th. If you are interested in this class, click on the following link to sign up for the class. My Stampin Up Thanks for stopping by. Happy Stamping!

Oh Hello Meets The Big Shot!
Again today I am showcasing one of my favorite cards from the Leaderhsip Conference in Orlando, Florida earlier this month. Did you note the beautiful Candlewick-like dots on the Pool Party Apothecary Framelits die cut? Love that new Cloudy Day embossing folder. The edging on this card is done with one of the Finishing Touches Embossing edgelits. I love, love, love the new soft roses!!! These are vintage dimentional flowers on strips of tulle, and come in approximately 2 yard lengths and are about 5/8" wide. One of the things that I like about them is that you can color them with a dauber and your choice of ink! So quick and easy, and they are resilent--they don't crush.
Thanks for stopping by.

Swallowtail
This was one of the samples on display at Leadership earlier this month in Orlando Florida. I thought this was an exquisite example of the Swallowtail Stamp(#129216 Clear, #129213 Wooden). Beautiful on a card, but really beautiful as framed art. Thanks for stopping by! http://www.brendawitt.stampinup.net

The kit also includes Lucky Limeade Emboridery and Primrose Petals Embroidery floss, AND 2 needles! The kit even includes Stampin Dimensionals to pop up the emboridered piece. I did add a small piece of Lucky Limeade Cardstock as a frame and a small bow of our Primrose Petals 3/8" Satin Ribbon. This was such an easy project!!! Thanks for stopping by.

Know what these are? Spring Garden
Know what these are? On the ceiling! I just about cracked up as I was hurrying off to Leadership the first morning. I have never seen ceiling fans mounted vertically! We had another great day with lots of good classes and meet-ups with friends.
This is one of my favorite cards that I saw at Leadership this year. It was on display at the Product Demonstration booth. Love the use of the Spring Garden stamp set and framelits dies. The colors were just so pretty! Note the use of one of the Apothecary Framelits Dies on the bottom of the card.

Leadership Card Trades
These are two of the cards that I took to trade at Leadership last week. The Melon Mambo card on the left is made using the new Secret Garden stamp set and the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Paper. Love the Cloudy Day Textured embossing folder in the back. The ribbon is also in our new Spring Occasions catalog. The card on the left uses the baby wipe technique on glossy white cardstock. Love that cute little whale in the set, Oh, Whale! The mini brad made the perfect eye. I was surprised that folks really liked the whale card, as I didn't think that I had done a very good job on the rainbow. Just never know what will trade well and what won't. I really got some pretty trades. Will be sharing some of them later this week. Now I am off to prepare cards for tomorrow's stamp clubs. And to feed a whining, much neglected (or so she says) cat! lol Happy Stamping!

Harry Potter World - Managers Reception
I tried to get a piece of the turkey leg loose, and launched my corn on the cobb clear under the next table! Thank you Stampin Up for a great evening of food, fun, and fellowship!
Stampin Up Leadership - Wow!
What an awesome time we had at Stampin Up Leadership in Orlando, Florida! This is our CEO and Co-Founder, Shelli Gardner at the opening General Session On January 10th. Our theme this year is Making a Difference for 25 Years"
The main 3 classes were so very helpful. "Meet New People and Find New Faces", hosted by Shannon West - had great ideas for finding new friends and new customers. I know that I personally am going to be contacting local libraries that do storytime for small children, to see if they need someone to make cards with their mothers while the children are listening to the storytime. I thought that was a great idea.
Holly Linford and Linsay Mahon had more great ideas on "Success Strategies to Empower Your Downline". A great ananogy was given to liken the journey a person takes in becoming a great demonstrator to climbing a mountain. The ideas given to help each person at each stage of the journey were very helpful!
As you can see by my blog, the one that I hope to benefit the most from was: "Ramping Up Your Social Media Presence", which was hosted by Andrea Withers, Catherine Pooler, Becky Roberts, and Diane Dimich. I was so excited about HELP to make a better blog. I am really excited about making changes, and learning to set up a Facebook Business Page, and maybe even learning to use You Tube! (Turns out, I even had to learn to put my pictures in a Picassa Web Album before I could even do this post today with a picture! ---Told you I REALLY needed this class!)
Loved the demonstrations that were done on the stage! You will be seeing more about those in the upcoming days. I think one of the things I like best about Stampin Up, is the availability of all the SU staff, from the CE0 (in the above picture) down to the workers in Demonstrator support. They are there handing out Prize Patrols prizes to us, visiting with us, stamping for us on stage, attending Managers Reception! IT is an awesome company to work for! Come join me. http://www.brendawitt.stampinup.net
Happy stamping!

Stampin Up Leadership Conference - Wow!
I just got back (finally, after being stranded in Washington, DC overnight, on Monday at noon. The above picture is of our CEO and co-founder, Shelli Gardner at the opening session on Friday, January 11, 2013. This year's year-long theme is "Making a Difference for 25 Years". What an inspiring coference it was! I attended some great classes:"Ramping Up Your Social Media Presence" was hosted by Andrea Withers with Catherine Pooler, Becky Roberts and Diane Dimich presenting some great ideas on how to effectively use Facebook, You Tube, and other Social Media. Who knew there are things that can be posted on a personal site, but not on a business site?
Shannon West did a great presentation on "Meeting New People and Finding New Faces". One that I intend to immediately try, is to go to my Local Library and offer to teach cardmaking to the parents of children who are attending the Story Hour. I would love to share my passion for card making with them
"Successful Strategies to Empower Your Downline was hosted by Holly Linford and Lynsay Mahon. Loved the analogy between Mountain Climbing and Empowering your downline!
The stamping presentations on stage were awesome, and the display boards!!!! I love the fun of getting together with friends that I have met through the years, meeting new friends, and just generally sharing our passion for stamping! (and food) lol
Thank you for stopping by. Will be posting more Pictures later. Manager's Reception was awesome!
